Hugo Lopez

Infos

@hug0l0pez

Hugo Lopez creates stories that are profoundly linked to reality, driven by an approving gaze that aims to reveal the beauty and uniqueness of each woman. His career started with the Inrocks’ cinema column before rapidly leading him to television, where, for several years, he directed programs that decrypted fashion and intimist documentaries on societal issues.

His creative approach, visible on-screen through his precise, beautiful and rhythmic imagery, places his aesthetic research in the service of fashion, beauty and luxury. At a time when inclusiveness, representativeness, originality and uniqueness are topics on everyone’s lips and a focal point for him, he offers the striking aesthetics of his narrative to houses such as Balmain and Ami as well as beauty brands such as L'Oréal Paris, Lancôme, Kérastase, YSL Beauty, Cacharel, Roger & Gallet and Giorgio Armani.

He also directed the documentary Zahia de Z à A which, as often in his work, led him to focus his camera lens on a complex woman. Hugo Lopez is currently finishing his first fiction short film, "El Rio", a very personal tribute to contrasting womanhood set in the poetic folklore of Spain.

The best place to be for a shoot or film set? Just beneath the light, right beneath it, in the heat of the spotlights.
