@leo_karmann
Aged 8, Léo Karmann watched the film Hook, wide-eyed! And his eyes have stayed wide open ever since. Seeing far beyond the pasteboard decor, he was fascinated by discovering the evocative power of bringing to mind an imaginary world where fantasy, adventure, and emotion came together in the same tale, leaving him with unforgettable memories.
He studied at cinema school and worked as an assistant on film sets. At the same time, with Sabrina B. Karine, a life-changing encounter for him, Léo joined "Les Indélébiles", a screenwriters' collective and catalyst of creative emulation.
After several short films and various awards, Léo co-wrote and directed his first feature film: La Dernière Vie de Simon. In this fantasy film, he aimed to make the viewer dream whilst talking about intimate subjects, poetry and reflection on humanity, with enormous attention to style very similar to that seen at Amblin studios.
Léo Karmann continues weaving stories that mingle dreams and spectacular visuals and is currently working on his first series and second feature film.
What do you always do before starting work? Remember that, deep down, whatever we do, we're always telling a story.
