Benoît Pétré is an actor, screenwriter and director whose multi-dimensional work spans cinema television and music. At the start of the 2000s, he studied at Cours Florent where, with his classmates, he founded Les Quiches. This was the start of a long relationship and boundless love that led them to make over 60 short films together.

They then created two series for Canal+ whose success gave them the opportunity to co-co-co-direct, in 2005 a first feature film: Foon, a musical which won the public choice prize at Sarlat Film Festival. In 2010, he presented the tenderly acerbic road movie "Thelma, Louise & Chantal” with Jane Birkin, Caroline Cellier and Catherine Jacob, which was selected by several international festivals, and went on to direct episodes of the series Hard on Canal+. He never abandoned music, and his videos for Bigflo & Oli, Calogero, Gims and Wejdene have accumulated almost 500 million views.

Having received several awards including a SILVER LION and a YELLOW PENCIL, he directed advertising films for clients such as L’Oréal Paris, Burger King, Renault and Ubisoft.

Part of Benoît Pétré’s work is driven by his commitment to the LGBTQI+ cause and he has directed several films in conjunction with the magazine Têtu.

He is currently working on a number of projects, including the adaptation for cinema of the comic strip LES PIEDS NICKELÉS with François Cluzet in the leading role.

What project puts you in a good mood ? All projects put me in a good mood. Every project is different, but I treat it like it was the film of my life. Whatever the project is, I give it my all. I’m not the slightest bit snobbish in that respect.
